  • Alzheimer Scotland - Dementia Friendly Glenrothes Consultation Survey

    Created: 28/11/2017, Updated: 29/11/2017
    News/Events Category: General News

Alzheimer Scotland need your help to build the Dementia Friendly Community in the Glenrothes Area.

They want to hear from people with dementia and their carers in the wider Glenrothes area about your experience of using local shops and services. From September, they’ll be extending their dementia friendly work in Glenrothes to Leslie, Markinch, Coaltown of Balgonie, Milton of Balgonie, Thornton and Kinglassie.

Therefore, they’d like to hear from more people in all areas in and around Glenrothes about their experiences of getting out in their communities. They would also like to hear from you about any shops and services that you would like them to contact about becoming dementia friendly.

They can offer dementia awareness sessions to help staff support customers with dementia. They can also help these shops and businesses to think about how their lighting, noise levels, signage and layout can make it easier or more difficult for people with dementia to get out and about. Help them by giving your thoughts and feedback to make sure that the changes they’re suggesting are the right ones for you!

They can also help businesses and services to get one of their window stickers to help people know which ones are dementia friendly.

To get involved, please contact Amanda Hunter at Alzheimer Scotland by telephone at 01592 803 800 or by e-mail at [email protected].
