ScotPHO Report on the impacts of alcohol consumption in Scotland
This Scottish Public Health Observatory (ScotPHO) report presents new data on the number of deaths and hospital admissions caused by alcohol consumption in 2015 and calculates the number of days lost to ill health or early death as a result, giving a measure of the impact of alcohol consumption in Scotland. It builds on work published last year on the ‘Burden of Disease’.
The study published on 01 February 2018 highlights the important role of alcohol as a preventable cause of ill-health and death in Scotland.
