Domestic Abuse and Protection of Children Good Practice Guidance
Created: 10/04/2018Fife Violence Against Women Partnership and Fife Child Protection Commitee have produced new guidance to support understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and non-abusing parents/carers when carrying out risk assessments and the importance of keeping a focus on the person perpetrating abuse and any ongoing risk. It promotes a child centred, perpetrator focused and survivor’s strengths approach to working with domestic abuse cases. It is a very practical resource providing risk assessment and safety planning tools, examples of how domestic abuse may impact on wellbeing indicators and current child protection practice.
