    About this opportunity:Age Scotland is the national charity for older people
     •  They work to improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50 so that they can love later life
     •  Their Comradeship Circles service aims to reduce loneliness by offering older members of the ex-service community the opportunity to enjoy regular group camaraderie by telephone
     •  A Comradeship Circle will host typically six people on the same day and time each week to chat about a range of topics and interests over the phone
     •  Circle Hosts will join the group phone calls, which last up to an hour, helping to facilitate discussion, developing resources to enrich Circles in response to member's interests
     •  You should also have an internet capable device with strong Wi-Fi connection
     •  Time and commitment needed is flexible

    Training provided:All Age Scotland Volunteers will be taken through the organisation's bespoke Volunteer Journey. This includes initial and on-going training by your Volunteer Supporter and Volunteer development & training officer. Training includes Diversity & inclusion, GDPR, Dementia and Veterans training. Volunteers will be supported throughout their journey with Age Scotland, with regular 1-1's with your volunteer supporter to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your role.

    Yes - Volunteers will be reimbursed for all necessary travel required for this role.

    Experience required:Creativity for developing engaging resources in response to circle participant's interests. Agreeing and complying with Age Scotland's policies and procedures. An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities. Required Skills: Communication, active listening and clear speaking, the ability to interact effectively with a range of people, caring and friendly nature to help people feel comfortable and encourage their participation
