During the holiday activities the children need to get 'out and about' as much as possible, whether to the park, beach or museums (weather permitting). The Centre has a policy of inclusion for any youngster who would benefit from interaction with other children or new experiences. This particular 7 year old requires constant supervision and guidance, especially when out of the Centre, crossing roads and encountering unfamiliar surroundings. If the match between volunteer and child is successful, by mutual consent this may continue during term time. The youngster could then participate in activities on days and at times to suit both the family and the volunteers. Due to the nature of the work we do, all volunteers must be willing to undertake clearance through the PVG scheme. There would be no cost to the volunteers for this to be done. The volunteers will be included in any outings we have planned, with all costs covered by the Centre.
