It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.
Kinship carers provide full time care of the children of family members or close friends, when the parents are unable to do so. Kinship carers tell us that the major reasons for children coming into the care of kinship carers include parental substance misuse, domestic violence, bereavement, and parental imprisonment.
Kinship carers also tell us that they experience financial hardship, often due to lack of information about the support available to them. Therefore, the Kinship Care Service at Citizens Advice Scotland is keen to ensure that their third sector partners, who may have kinship carers amongst their service user group, are fully informed and able to signpost kinship carers to the most appropriate source of advice and information.
Therefore, they are delighted to be able to invite third sector partners to join Citizens Advice Bureau and local authority staff at a training event which will cover the legal and financial implications of being a kinship carer, the impact of kinship care allowance on eligibility to apply for state benefits, and the implications of residence orders and kinship care orders.
This workshop is a 2 day event. Please note that spaces are limited so please book your place.
