FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
Voluntary activity accounts for enormous benefits across the third sector in Fife and without our volunteers our work could not be done. Attracting the volunteers that best suit the volunteer roles you have, needs consideration and planning. FVA can help with this by offering top tips on how to get the right person first time, as well as making the most of FVAs volunteer web page.
At this session, and Janine Stenhouse, Volunteering Development Officer along with Nicci McDougall, Volunteering Support Officer, both with FVA, will guide us through:
- How to be clear about what kind of volunteer you need (skills, attributes, experience etc);
- How to explain the benefits of volunteering, including what support you are offering as part of that process (e.g., induction, training);
- How to make best use of Fife Voluntary Action’s registration process and website to promote your volunteering opportunity;
- How to maximise your networks and local resources to get your opportunity the exposure it needs;
- How to encourage the right volunteers towards your organisation, using your role description to break down potential barriers.
