    Created: 2/13/2023, Updated: 2/14/2023

The WEA is the largest third-sector provider of adult education in the UK. Its purpose is to bring high-quality learning experiences to adults in the community.

From its office in Cowdenbeath, The WEA is developing and delivering a programme to meet the needs of learners which fits with local and national strategies.

It aims to develop and deliver courses that meet learners aims but the following list includes examples of courses successfully delivered:

    • Counting on a Greener Scotland – climate change and numeracy resource.
    • Journaling for wellbeing – an introduction to journaling, giving you the tools to start your own journal in whatever way suits you.
    • Communication – general or for specific purposes.
    • Community Interpreting – new course, to introduce speakers of other languages to interpreting for others in the community.
    • Local History / Peoples history.
    • Helping your children with numeracy

Please get in touch if you feel that there is a particular topic or issue which would work well for your community.
