Volunteer raises £1,400 for foodbanks by running 14.1 miles
Created: 4/17/2023The number of people accessing local foodbanks has increased exponentially as a result of the cost-of-living crisis, so it is uplifting to hear about the efforts of fundraisers such as Scott Johnstone, who raised £1,400 for five Trussel Trust foodbanks in his area. Scott, who is a foodbank volunteer, achieved this by running a 14.1 mile journey that links the five foodbanks from Benarty to Dunfermline.
Commenting on his achievement, Scott said: “With the cost-of-living crisis we’re going through, it’s understandable that donations to the foodbanks have been a bit lower than usual recently, as everyone is feeling the pinch a bit more, so this boost will be a great help.”
“If anyone would like to help the foodbanks going forward, then donations are always welcome, and the foodbanks are also looking for more volunteers if anyone can spare a few hours here and there.”
