  • “Making Local Choice a Reality” Self-Directed Support Conference, 27 May 2015

    Created: 4/27/2015

Fife Voluntary Action is co-hosting a conference about Self-Directed Support (SDS) in partnership with Real Life Options. The event will take place at Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, on 27 May 2015.

The conference will bring together organisations from Fife and beyond who have the potential to (or already do) contribute to the Self-Directed Support mix. With speakers Jamie Hepburn (Minister for Sport, Health Improvement and Mental Health) giving the national perspective and Cllr. Gavin Yates (Executive Spokesperson for Community Health and Wellbeing) providing a local angle, the event will illustrate the direction Fife is travelling in, where SDS is concerned.

We believe that SDS users in Fife should have a real choice when it comes to deciding what's best for them. That's why we're running six practical workshops at the event, covering a broad range of themes and topics. By asking Fife's enterprising service providers to get involved, we hope to run an event that will be different from the norm - not just another Health and Social Care conference but a real empowering, enabling and inspiring day for all who attend.
