  • Community Enterprise - The State of Marketing in the Social Enterprise Sector

    Created: 5/3/2017

In 2012, Community Enterprise undertook a survey (as part of other research) across the social enterprise sector in Scotland looking into the sector’s capacity in regards to marketing, branding and communications.  Findings were that there was a huge need but a very low level of capacity, ability and budget.  In response to that, we set up what has become BOLD, the only full service design agency in Scotland (see www.bold.scot for more info).

They are conducting a similar study again, 5 years on, to understand changes in the priorities, needs, budgets and skills related to marketing in social enterprises across the country. The results will come at an interesting time following the first social enterprise census (and an imminent follow up) and a new co-produced 10 year Social Enterprise Strategy.  It will also help us to see what the needs are in Scotland and plan the kind of support that is offered.
