Deepness Dementia Media has launched a new free course called You are Not Alone: Living Well with your Money aimed to help people living with dementia manage their funds.

This course has been written, developed, delivered and managed entirely by people living with dementia. The pilot course- run peer-to-peer- was funded by the Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert charity (MSE Charity). It has now been adapted to be available to anyone through open access.

The course is broken down into six lessons together with Welcome and Rounding Off sections as well.

The course materials are presented to students in manageable chunks over three weeks. Lessons include:

    • coping with an initial diagnosis
    • planning your money
    • benefits, grants and funding
    • living alone with dementia
    • when it's time to give up managing your money.

The course consists of a mixture of written learning materials, exercises, videos and audio.
