FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment strategy to better prepare young people for the world of work. DYW is an employer led process and the priority is to make it easier for employers to connect with young people in schools and colleges across Fife. Through this team effort to support young people to prepare for the world of work, employers can provide inspirational opportunities for young people to help them understand and develop the skills they need to succeed.

At this session – Ryan Hepburn DYW Fife - Education Support Officer from Fife Council will tell us all about how Developing the Young Workforce supports and nurtures:

    • Engagement and Opportunity - Inspiring young people and stakeholders through employer and partner activity that ignites interest around a wider range of destination pathways
    • Personal and Skill Development - Engaging young people in experiences and opportunities that develop skills and better prepare them for the world of work
    • Informed Decisions – Through engagement, events, and activities, better inform all stakeholders including parents and carers of the opportunities, support, and destination pathways available to young people
    • Improved partnerships – A collaborative approach between employers, education, and third sector providers
    • Prepared learners – Supporting young people through activity that closes the destination gap, mitigates barriers, and maximises opportunity
