Health Promotion Service has been working with Scottish Government colleagues to develop and roll out the Time Space Compassion (TSC) approach across Fife.

    Course Aims

    • Introduce the Time Space Compassion approach and how it can be used at a personal, team, and service level to support a compassionate and person-centred response to people in suicidal distress and crisis
    • Learn about key evidence, concepts and practices underpinning TSC and how it can be used to prevent and support people experiencing suicidal thoughts, distress and crisis
    • Using practice stories and videos, you'll explore lived experience perspectives
    • Opportunities for participants to take part in personal reflective practice and small group conversations exploring where TSC can be identified in your own and other's practice, as well as opportunities to improve and build on what you already do

    Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, you will be better able to:

    • Explain what TSC is and how it relates to what you do
    • Describe why TSC matters and the impact it can have for people experiencing suicidal crisis
    • Identify and describe what TSC means in practice
    • Identify ways to describe and improve what you already do that supports TSC
    • Know where to find more information and supporting resources on TSC

    Who Should Attend

This workshop is for people working in a wide range of roles and organisations, that come into contact with, or support people impacted by suicidal distress or crisis. It is suitable for practitioners, managers, commissioners and improvement leads.

It will be beneficial, but not necessary, for participants to have some experience/understanding of supporting individuals through periods of distress or crisis. This session aligns with, but does not replace practice-based suicide and crisis prevention learning (e.g. Ask Tell, Safe Talk, ASIST).

The closing date for attendance registration is Friday 12 January 2024.
