It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

    What is this event about?

Climate change is happening now and we need to get ready. Over the last century temperatures have increased, sea levels are rising at an accelerating rate and rainfall patterns have changed, with increased seasonality and more heavy downpours. Even if we were to achieve net zero tomorrow, these changes are projected to continue and intensify over the coming decades.

While climate change is a clear and present threat, this is also an opportunity for us all to create better buildings, communities and places that are resilient to the changing climate. Communities that are rich in green and blue space and that support healthy communities and resilient, wellbeing economies.

What will be covered during the event?

Cat Payne from sustainability charity Sniffer, will lead a session on how you can make your buildings climate ready. Cat is leading the new Edinburgh and Southeast Scotland Climate Change Risk and Opportunity Assessment.

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A panel, when Cat will be joined by Michael Hildrew, Energy Advice Team Leader at Cosy Kingdom, Louise Oliver, Business Outreach Coordinator for Climate Action Fife, and Liz Corke, Education Manager at The Ecology Centre.

Throughout the event, you will have the opportunity to network with other like-minded groups and individuals and share your own knowledge on this topic.

After the session, you will have the chance to take a quick tour of The Ecology Centre to see first-hand the adaptations they have implemented at their venue, after which a light lunch will be served.

    Travel/accessibility notes:

The Ecology Centre is an accessible charity, where the building has been designed to accommodate the needs of less able bodied persons. There are no ramps or staircases in the building and there is disabled parking on site, along with several car parking spaces. However, anyone attending is encouraged to consider car sharing to ensure there are enough car parking spaces for everyone. There is public transport available to Kinghorn (train, No 7 bus) however please note that the walk from the bus station or the train station can be quite a challenging walk with some uphill sections.

    Book your place here.
