Climate Cafés are community-led, informal, inspiring spaces to get together, share ideas and information and get involved in climate action.
Climate Cafés are inclusive spaces where everyone is welcome to join the conversation and get involved. There is no need to be an expert, all perspectives are welcomed!
This event which will be led by Jess Pepper, Director of Climate Cafe CIC and the Climate Cafe Hub. You will find out more about:
- What is a Climate Café?
- What do you need to run a Climate Café?
- What support and resources are available to you if you want to start a Climate Café?
Following the session, over a light lunch, there will also be an opportunity to network and start practising what you’ve learnt!
Who is this session for?
This session is suited to any group or individual who wishes to start a climate café in their local community. You don’t need to be a climate expert to start a climate café!
Refreshments
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available from 11.15am.
A soup and sandwich lunch will be available after the session at approximately 1pm.Travel/accessibility notes:
- Kirkcaldy bus station is about 5 minutes’ walk away
- Kirkcaldy rail station is about 5 minutes’ walk away
- Free parking is available at Kirkcaldy train station (5-minute walk)
- The site is wheelchair friendly and there is an accessible toilet on site

About Jess Pepper
Jess Pepper is the Founder and Director of Climate Café CIC and the Climate Café Hub. Jess has worked on climate communications and legislation for over 20 years, including at WWF Scotland and with the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition Scotland. She trained as a Climate Leader with The Climate Reality Project in 2013, mentored at training events, and co-ordinated the Climate Reality collaboration with Climate Café at COP26 in Glasgow. Since founding Climate Café in 2015, she leads the Hub to support new and existing Climate Cafés to connect and collaborates across Scotland and beyond. Jess is an Honorary Fellow of The Royal Scottish Geographical Society for climate work and a Fellow of The RSA.
Jess is on the BBC World list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world for 2023, as one of 28 Climate Pioneers ahead of COP28.
