Venture Trust's parental employability course in Fife has had great success over the past two months and they're delighted to announce that preparations are underway for the next round. The next course will be a free five-day course at Fordell Firs in Dunfermline, running Monday 22 - Friday 26 April 2024.

    About The Course

Venture Trust have booked space at Fordell Firs for a full week of outdoors activities including climbing, 3G swing, orienteering and team building along with employability workshops to go alongside these activities each day.

The employability workshops will focus on building confidence, CV writing and mock interviews to give participants the tools needed to move forward with their job search.

To ensure parents have plenty of time for school/nursery drop off and pick-ups, the course will run 10.00-2.00 each day. Transport to and from Fordell Firs can be arranged if required alongside any reimbursement of bus/train fares on arrival each day.

Lunch will be provided each day, with a celebratory meal out together on the final day.

    Eligibility

Criteria for this course includes any parent who is currently unemployed or underemployed and includes kinship carers and those who may not have their children in their care.

Places are limited to a maximum of 12, therefore these places will be allocated on a first-come first served basis and can only be confirmed upon completion of the registration forms required.  (This can be done in your local area 1:1 with Laura Ann Ferguson - [email protected] - at a time best suited to the client).

Venture Trust will set up a reserve list also should the course be over subscribed.

The parents Venture Trust has been working with over the past few months have greatly benefitted from the program and have enjoyed getting to try new outdoor experiences including bushcraft and canoeing as well as getting to know other parents in the area.

The referral form can be found here:  Venture Trust Employability Programmes Referral Form | Venture Trust

Venture Trust accepts both self-referrals and those from professionals and if anyone would like any more information or would like any support to complete the referral form, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
