    News/Events Category: General News

Following its closure in 2020, Methil Heritage Centre reopened on Wednesday 03 April 2024.

The centre is managed by OnFife who have appointed a museum assistant, and a community engagement coordinator who is carrying out consultation and engagement across Levenmouth.

Thanks to financial support from Fife Council's Levenmouth Area Committee until March 2025, the centre has been able to reopen, and OnFife have been able to employ members of staff.

OnFife have been working closely with Friends of Methil Heritage who were instrumental in setting up the heritage centre in 1991.In addition to the small display about Methil, they will be piloting a series of events and activities to attract a wide range of visitors. This will include displays by local groups, workshops for young people, and Bookbug storytelling sessions for preschool aged children and their families.

Methil Heritage Centre will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 11.00-4.30 (closed for lunch 1-1.30) and Saturdays 1.00-4.00.
