  • Third Sector Employability Consortium update

    Created: 10/03/2014

The recent Draft Fife Employability Pathway Commissioning Guidelines indicate an intention to fund fewer larger projects, and within this an interest in a third sector consortium approach to delivery.

The Commissioning Guidelines were discussed at our Fife Employability Forum in January and Fife Voluntary Action agreed to facilitate some initial workshops to explore how this might happen.

These first workshops were held on 12th and 26th February. On the 12th we were joined by leading charity lawyer Alastair Keatinge of Lindsays to explore the legal issues around working in a consortium. A note of the meeting and Alastairís slides are below.

The second workshop focussed on exploring what organisations might be interested in delivering, where and with whom.

We have agreed that further meetings will be necessary to inform how a service might be shaped.

The following organisations have attended these meetings so far: BRAG, Clued-Up, ENABLE, DEAP Ltd, FEAT, Fife Voluntary Action, The Gilven Project, Frontline Fife, Kingdom Housing Association and West Fife Enterprise.

We anticipate that things will move swiftly going forward. If you are interested in being involved in the Consortium then please get in touch with Pegs Bailey in the first instance.
