  • Shared Care Scotland Better Breaks Fund Open to Applications

    The Better Breaks Fund is provided by the Scottish Government and administered by Shared Care Scotland. The Fund awards grants of up to £50,000 (although the average grant will be around £19,000) to develop responsive and creative short break opportunities for disabled children and young people, and their families.

    Applications are invited from:

    • Voluntary organisations working within Scotland;
    • Partnership applications with statutory authorities (local authorities and health partners);
    • Charitable organisations and
    • Organisations new to the fund as well as organisations that have previously applied to the fund.

    Applications to improve short break opportunities for disabled children and young people with additional multiple support needs are particularly welcomed.

    Application workshops will be held across Scotland to provide information and guidance about how to make a strong application. Workshop dates are as follows:

    • 28 October – Glasgow
    • 31 October – Lochgilphead
    • 2 November – Dundee
    • 3 November – Inverness
    • 4 November – Edinburgh

    Groups unable to attend a workshop may contact the Short Breaks Fund Manager by calling 01383 622462 on 14, 15 or 18 November 2016. 

    The deadline for applications is 12 o'clock on Friday 02 December 2016.
