Government Opens Round two of the Tampon Tax Fund
Created: 09/12/2016The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has launched the second round of the £15 million Tampon Tax Fund.
During the Autumn Statement 2016, the Chancellor announced the 2017/18 Tampon Tax Fund. This year the £15 million fund is inviting charitable, benevolent and philanthropic organisations across the UK the chance to bid into one or two categories.
The funding is for projects which address either of the following two categories:
Violence against Women and Girls - This category is aimed at organisations that support women and girls affected by or at risk of violence or abuse. This should include early intervention and prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG) crimes, as well as victim services. There is particular interest in this category.
General programme - This category is aimed at organisations working to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls. Proposals must demonstrate how their proposed outcomes fit with government or local authority strategies and services. There is particular interest in proposals that involve partnership working.
Applications will be considered for projects that are genuine new developments of previously funded projects provided that there are new potential outcomes and there is a proven need for the proposed service.
There is £15 million for the current fund which covers 2017-18. There is no upper limit; however, the level of funding cannot represent more than 50% of the applicant’s collective annual income. It is 'unlikely' that grants of less than £15,000 will be awarded. Grants are available for one, two or three-year projects.
An application form, criteria and guidelines are available upon request by sending an email to: [email protected]
Further information on the fund can be found by clicking here.
The deadline for applications is Friday 27 January 2017.
