Salary: £17,137 (Unqualified), £17,573 (Qualified) pro rata
Kingdom Support provides accommodation and support to people experiencing homelessness in a hostel setting and provide outreach support to individuals in the community. They are looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated support workers to join this service.
As a support worker you will support individuals to deal with the immediate impact of homelessness and thereafter to secure/sustain a tenancy and provide structured and ad hoc support with life skills. You will monitor health and wellbeing and will be responsible for controlling access to the building, dealing with emergencies and carrying out health and safety checks and maintaining standards of cleanliness in the hostel.
The successful candidate will have:
Applicants must have an SVQ2 in Care or a related field in line with the SSSC registration criteria or be willing to work towards this. You need be registered as a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. The cost of membership (whether a new or existing member) is borne by you.
A current driving licence and the use of a car for work purposes are desirable. You will be placed at the unqualified rate unless you have achieved the relevant qualification as determined by the Scottish Social Services Council.
